I can appreciate that Billy Eilish didn’t take my order at the cash register and that Chappell Roan didn’t serve me my food, especially on Virgil. Instead it was a young Latina high school girl struggling not to spill my 16 oz latte too much. The cup is big and heavy so it would be a struggle for most. This place is down to earth. It’s real. For $16 you get a 16 oz latte and chorizo con huevos. Maybe two eggs. Not sure. I ordered chorizo con huevos because I don’t do breakfast burritos. I’m from West Mexico. Michoacán to be exact. They were nice enough to make my chorizo con huevos even though I don’t think it’s on the menu. On my fancy rectangular plate they put a tree orchid and it made me feel a little better. The end of year holidays are the worst time of year for me. I’m not sure if the girl at the register noticed I was muted by life or not and told the kitchen but in any case I appreciated the flower. It was brighter than my thoughts today. Of course they probably place them on all plates but today I think I’ll pretend someone notices me and even cares. This little cafe is simple. They make juices and smoothies too. The blender/ juicer is on constantly and it can be so ASMR. I guess. To be honest I quite enjoyed hearing people speaking Spanish behind me. I was born in Los Angeles but nevertheless I’ve always felt so out of place. Not because of all the local blue haired people, or the entitled transplants or the hard working immigrants. More like the fact that California is its own thing in this country. Still, our particular voice has little impact and here we are trapped in our own backyard with little appreciation from the rest of the country for the fact we provide for the rest of the country. I don’t like the music here. Only defect. Meter parking outside.

The food here was AMAZING! My boyfriend and I came for brunch while visiting LA and were blown away. We ordered the chilaquiles and huevos rancheros—both were absolutely delicious. We also tried a beet-orange-carrot juice and a green juice, and loved that they made them fresh right in front of us with real fruits and veggies. On top of that, the ladies working there were so kind and friendly—they even surprised us with free ginger shots! Would 100% recommend this spot.

This is my go to spot for breakfast or brunch. Highly recommend this place to anyone who comes to town. The food is delicious - seriously mouthwatering good - and very decently priced. The atmosphere is very basic but we love it. No frills, just really good food and fresh juices. Indoor and outdoor seating, its small so probably not great for a big group but we've always been able to find seating for 2-4 people. Always recommend the steak and eggs and breakfast burritos. Seriously so good.

It’s pricey BUT the quality and portion is so worth it. The food is amazing so you do get what you pay for. Love that I can walk to a delicious spot for breakfast and lunch (and an early dinner since they close at 7pm).

Cute, little cafe on Virgil Ave. The customer service is super friendly, attentive, and kind. The cafe has a variety of smoothie, juices, and coffee selection with fair pricing, but the quality of their beverages is delightful and full of flavor. Food prices is affordable, and the amount of they serve you is a good portion where you’ll be over satisfied. They take their time creating your food, and often time you’ll see the cooks peeping their heads out the kitchen to observe the room and people eating their delicious meals. Overall, this cafe will attend your needs and fill your belly’s! I recommend. Come on by and give it a try!

Food is good for the price and there are generous portions. Plating is gorgeous as well. Nice, affordable, fresh smoothies and pastries are great. Outside seating and the cutest tiramisu latte.

Came to Cali for a visit and made a quick stop here due to the reviews and I’m extremely glad I did. I ordered the Chicken Pesto Sandwich and an Iced Caramel Macchiato. Prices are excellent for the quality of food and service. Give them a try!

Virgil Cafe is a modest corner breakfast cafe that offers traditional Mexican cuisine with bold flavors as well American cuisine delights with comforting classics such as burgers, fries and crispy sweet waffles. They are located on Virgil and Melrose ave in Virgil Village in East Hollywood. Its interior and exterior layout design was plain but the culmination of this review doesn’t end here. They offer salubrious food and fresh juices on their menu. We came here as first time customers. We perused their menu; I decided to have a Veggie Omelet and a Cubano espresso. I liked their food because it was fresh and warm which is a perfect match for my espresso drink. Staff were affable, warm and professional. Service was on point. Atmosphere was quite relaxing. Prices were fair. Free rear parking lot and street public parking are available. Collectively, this is a great breakfast cafe spot in this hipster neighborhood. Overall, I enjoyed their food and coffee as well as their service. I will definitely try their juices.
